Attraction

You expect teachers
to tell the truth
or at least
know the truth
as a child
A Teacher stood
at the head of our class

Gravity is created
by centrifugal force
taking a bucket
full of water
he swung it round
in circles

See how the water
stays at the bottom
of the bucket
that's the force
Gravity
that keeps us
on the planet

My mind thought
that can't be right
we are on the outside
of the planet
going round
and round

Then surly like
the bike wheel
the force
would throw
us off

Gravity
must be
something
different
since then
I have learned

Einstein
believed
that Gravity
was created
by the curvature
of space and time

That like a blanket
wraps itself
around the earth
holding us down
to the planet
it's hard to argue

Einstein
was no fool
but to me
I think of space
and time
as the proverbial
nothing

But then
with space
we know that
the proverbial
nothing
is actually
something

we sit
in the middle
of a miracle
and question
the impossible
how can something
never end

and yet
that is
the description
of space
a never ending
vacuum
devoid of energy
black saturn

a tapestry
or canvas
on which God paints
the endless
energy
of life

an
eternity
of nothing
stretching on
for endless time
yet my mind
still thinks

Gravity
could be
the simple atom
the microscopic
building block
of life

the atom
attracts
other atoms
attempting
to link together

could gravity
be created
by this
attraction
could
matter
simple be
attracted
to matter

Your definition of gravity in the last three stanza is a beautiful work of imagination and experience ... Enjoyed the poem very much ...
