Attitude
ATTITUDE
I can go through my day at the office
With a frown or a scowl in my eye;
I can snap at my head supervisor
When he comes with more work passing by.
I can moan when the system’s not working
Or complain if it’s going too slow;
I can gripe when I don’t get promotions
Or they tell me my work is so-so.
But when the grueling eight hours is over
And I’ve sat there throughout them to brood,
I will carry the problems out with me
As I bring home my bad attitude.
I can’t work with a chip on my shoulder
For I’ll learn it hurts me more than they
Who put up with my constant complaining
As I try to get through one more day.
Yes, there’s more whom I hurt through my groaning
Than the ones who see hurt in my eyes.
If I’d stop just for once to consider,
I am sure I would soon realize
That I’m hurting myself with nay-saying,
And I’m feeding my mind poisoned food,
So today I will smile and be happy
With a positive, glad attitude.
