Attention Is What She Craves
She just wants to be noticed
Attention is what she craves
No one feels her pain
No one sees her scars
A disappointment and an empty heart
She thinks no better of herself
So what does she do?
She takes that blade
She slits her wrists
She cuts, she cuts, she cuts
“Why do you do this to me?”
The blood drips as she cries
She goes to school
People laugh, people stare
Why does nobody see it?
Why does nobody care?
She sits on a bench, bullied and scared
She doesn’t know what to do now
What will make them see?
What will make them care?
She just wants to be noticed
Attention is what she craves
No one feels her pain
No one sees her scars
A disappointment and an empty heart
She thinks no better of herself
So what does she do?
She takes that gun
She pulls that trigger
“Oh, they’ll notice now”
The blood pools, she no longer needs to cry
“Why do you do this to me?”
She just wants to be noticed
Attention is what she craves
