Atavistic Attitudes

I heard a story of a land
Where tolerance was all,
As one they lived together
Whatever creed or call.

Homophobia and misogyny
Xenophobia and distrust,
Those atavistic attitudes
Were crumbled into dust.

Of course 'tis but a fairy tale
But that it could be,
This world would be a pleasant land,
Where empathy runs free.

As long as society dictates the latest genre of separation, nothing will changer a long time. Your poem sends a message to portend. A great poem!

lovely sentiment, lovely poetry. And I do believe that this is the land where we dwell MOSTLY...but pockets of ugly and evil remain and disturb the peace as well it should... :)
