At time's end
Longing for the mountains
Captured by the sea
Pining for the lover
That's waiting for me
There's sunshine on the rise
Beyond the last storm
Whisky's in the bottle
Bedrooms have been warmed
Saturday's for freedom
Friday's in repair
Families have moved on
To the county fair
There be hot dogs and coke
Cotton candy too
At the end of the day
Fireworks fade from view
Summer's soon for ending
Nature's change is swift
People start making moves
As the landscapes shift
Some go for holidays
Some go to escape
Most put it down to luck
Others claim it's fate
Mountains last for ages
Seas end at the shore
Time is of the essence
Which we can't ignore
We are just passing through
Like those river bends
I will have a whisky
Toasting long gone friends
