At the River

I sat on the sand by the river
   All of the sudden I felt a shiver
   Then I searched for my sweater
   To keep warm from cool weather

Love this one my friend, as it brought back a sweet memory for me same as it did for Connie. A night spent in a tent on a small beach in the early 70's. No campfire, but she and I made our on fires inside the tent that night. Adding this to my fav list my friend.

Your poem brought back memories I spent at the only time I sat on the beach till nightfall. I was with a date who was in the army and we built a fire on the beach and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. When I got cold he wrapped his arms around me and a friend took our picture. That is why I love reading poetry, because we can relate our own memories to the piece. Thank you for that almost forgotten memory! I enjoyed your poem Darlene. : )
