At the City Pool

I’m sitting here relaxing with great ease

since swimming laps here at the city pool.

         It’s Saturday and there’s a little breeze

this afternoon, which makes it slightly cool.

I’m feeling glad that Monday there’s no school

and worries of the week are in the past.

I’m happy too that I have time at last

to sit and write a little poetry.

I need to write some more and do it fast. . .

My sweet time into darkness soon shall flee.
