At Peace

We live in wait for better things
Which rise above the crest of sea
With much to share we are at peace
By hand in hand, we wander free

There is one flower in the bed
I never pick above the rest
Your perfect rose of ruby red
How smooth the petals that are blessed

It is so tranquil in your song
I play you over and again
We share the verses all night long
I find such peace within my friend

You are a wonder to this nature
That some have called the gift of love
A human treasure for the pleasure
To share what God has planned above

But if the light should fade in time,
Still the heart would be at peace
With faith, the beacon from inside,
Would guide the path beneath our feet
