At Any Rate

At any rate it has been said better alive than dead For each day is made for living even if it’s not so giving It is better to feel pain and move on for it transcends each and every dawn Bring on sadness and grief let misery be brief Have tears run down your cheek if it leads to the one you seek When things are gut wrenching it’s kind of like a good drenching Where you may feel all wet inside as if there is nowhere to hide In moments when things are dark reality seems most stark Contrasting night and day illuminating another way For you to see right from wrong weak from strong Highs may come and go but you’re the master of your show So dry the tears and don’t depress don your very best dress For happiness can’t be far away at least that’s what they say At any rate… Andreas Simic©
