Assumptions

It hurts so much
What they say and think about me
Wanting me to behave a certain way
Is it me who cannot see
I try to be what they want
But I cannot
People pleasing is not the way
Please let me be free, let me be
Angry, I write these words
Negativity sets in
They created this but I let it be
It is up to me to once again find my sanity
Is it the caffeine that is the source of this state
I’m upset but I won’t give in
For I believe I know the way
And won’t let anyone or anything stand in my way
On this and any other day
