Assassinating the Heart

A smile of deception
A riddle that brings you close
For what is life worth living
If I can’t show you what I know

That love is always dying
That darkness gets me through
That drowning all emotion
Is why I still want you

Conspiring in this madness
A whisper of your heart
And in this cold disaster
I’ll take your love apart

Mechanical and poisoned
My artificial dreams
I create them from your answers
And then I plant disease

The darkest kind of creature
A reflection of this world
Twisted by illusion
But thriving on despair
