Asparagus Patch

Asparagus Patch We stroll along the sides of streets That circle where we stay She quickly sneaks as I stand guard In some spots along the way She saw some seeding stalks one fall So in the spring she’s here She secretly searches in the grass With hopes to spot a spear Someday I’ll score some seeds she said And sew some in our yard Since we split so few so many ways With seekers on the boulevard So if you ever spot an asparagus stalk Let no one see your toils cause soon they’re searching every spring For a share of all the spoils By: Jeremy Siedlecki
