Asmall Investment
A SMALL INVESTMENT
It was just a small investment--the dollars he had there--
He took it to a broker and chose the stock with care.
The company soon prospered, the man looked on as smart--
All from a small investment from which he made his start.
And now vast sums of riches he gathered and he stored;
The fruit of one investment had brought him great reward.
And we make small investments in people every day
When we teach them the Bible and show to them God’s way.
It might seem very meager, and we may think we failed,
But if we keep investing, the dividends will prevail.
For if in that human being we invest toil and time,
God keeps the books in heaven, and some day we will find
Our riches are eternal where moth, rust don’t decay,
And He will recognize us with crowns on judgment day.
And yes, that individual, that we invested in
Could trust in Christ’s salvation, be spared from many a sin.
Out there are our investments! Let’s trust, let’s serve, let’s pray!
Let’s find a life who’s hurting and help it change today!
