Ask Alice Maybe

Tweedle dum and Tweedle de,
are in this verse, I hope oh gee,
Queen of hearts had a some where part,
An the tin man blubbered he? ………Did he?

So falling down this plurry hole,
she found a lunatic, not quite whole,
he had a silly sort of grin,
she found n left him in a bin,
he then went on the dole. (Unemployment )

So poncing down the local path,
Alice saw and seen the lucid wrath,
Of sweetie the Queen of Hearts,
Or was it tarts, Queen Tartly.
Cos she’d seen better days.

Did I ever read the book?
Not likely old chook?

for Debbie's go ask Alice contest

hahaha. I don't blame you That book was so far over my own little head, I would never have understood it, much less be able to stay awake trying! Some really cute lines in this one, Don, and don't worry, we all know here in America anyway, what the dole is. hahaha (we are knowing it TOO well) LUv, Andrea

Like the way you worked the social commentary in there (unemployment), Don. I think I read the abbreviated version of the book as a child. Can't remember much of it though. Best wishes in Deb's contest! Love, Carolyn
