Ashes to Ascent
Ashes to Ascent
Jack dreamt each day beneath the sun,
To win the dreams his dad begun.
Not out of pride, nor for his name,
But to finish what his father came.
He saw the man who fought through pain,
Yet smiled so none would cry in vain.
But fate was cruel, it cut his climb,
And took his heart before his time.
Now Jack stood tall, with fire inside,
He bore each storm, he never cried.
Through sleepless nights, through endless strain,
He built his life on work and pain.
He fed the hungry, shared his bread,
Lifted the weak with words he said.
Competition never crossed his way,
He lived to give, not win the day.
But life turned cold, his work was gone,
The road he paved grew dark, withdrawn.
He fought, he fell, he lost his spark,
And wandered through the endless dark.
He lied, he smiled, but deep inside,
He wished to rest, he wished to hide.
Yet love stood firm — his wife, his son,
Their faith in him, his only sun.
They held him close, they bore the fight,
They turned his dark to gentle light.
And when all hope had left his hand,
An angel came — to help him stand.
A chance reborn, a path restored,
A reason found, a life adored.
Jack rose again, with strength anew,
The dream he dreamt had pulled him through.
He saw his God — not far above,
But in the eyes of those he loved.
For dreams don’t die, they only bend —
They rise again, they find their end.
Jack dreamt — and through the pain,
He found his heart, he lived again
