As Time Went By

His love healed her

When her soul had died

He beckoned her tenderly

Till she could no longer hide

In a time of struggle

When the lights were grey

His soft pleading

Made her stay

His practice of what is

And what should not be

Gave her the courage

To set herself free

He entered her life

Like a gentle sigh

She grew to love him

As time went by
