As Time Draws Near

As the Lord drew His last breath, dark clouds covered the sky. The earth shook violently, angrily, as if to ask the question why? Such a violent end for a man who did no one wrong, Unless love, kindness, healing, redemption, and forgiveness was a crime all along. Don’t you know He suffered, can’t you feel His pain I still don’t understand why they wanted Him to die, would someone please explain? Death did not justify the things our Savior did, But it was all part of Heavens plan, He only did His Fathers bid. He died to redeem our souls that day on Calvary, Such a horrendous death He suffered there for you and me. His blood still holds the power to wash away our sins, Just call upon His Precious Name, that’s how it all begins. Don’t let His sacrifice go to waste, show Him that you care, Give Him first your heart and then your soul for the pain He had to bare. And know the day of redemption it nears, And if you have Him in your heart and soul, you’ll brandish not a fear.

I've been watching so many movies on Jesus lately with Easter aproaching and your poem tells it all. I don't think we ever understand how much he loves us.

Great poem Ron, your right when you say its all part of God's plan. There was no other way that we could have been saved. What a great gift of salvation. If only the world could see this free gift and take it with both hands. God Bless. Leon

Beautifully written and very inspirational, Ronald. Indeed, those of us who have faith are not afraid of death. My father said exactly that in his living will. As for executions, a documentary on crucifictions was on TV this week. It looks like a horrible way to die. Jesus must have loved us very much to make such a sacrifice. Love your timely poem, Ronald!
