As the Last Petal Falls
softly it lingers, a breath in the air,
a whisper of love, too fragile to bear--
the rose in your hands, once burning bright,
fades in the hush of the fading light
a crimson promise, a vow once made,
wilting now in autumn’s shade--
yet love is not lost in petals torn,
but in the echoes where hearts were worn
so let it drift, let time erase
the touch of silk, the sweet embrace--
for love remains, though seasons call,
even as the last petal falls
