As She Remembers

One year today,
tears are still shed,
for the man she loved,
completely.

Holding dear to the memories,
that held them over the years,
she weeps softly,
"I wish you were here",.

Though his time was up,
still so much left undone,
a lot was taken for granted.

If only she had one more day,
just so she could prove,
how much she did love him,
now only wondering if he really knew.

She sits in silence,
as tears come to her eyes,
as she remembers times gone by.

All the time they were together,
over 15 years,
now there nothing,
emptiness in the air.

Only a void,
that can never be filled,
"Good bye my darling" she says,
I love you.
