As I Watch

It just turned midnight
And you closed your eyes
For the very first time
I finally realized
As I watch you breathe
I fell to my knees
And gave thanks to God
For answering my prayers
Yes I prayed for you
For so very long
I didn't think he would answer
But he proved me wrong
I still can't believe that this is true
I'm actually laying next to you
Watching you dream, watching you sleep
Are you really a part of me
Is this real or is this fake
Because if it's a dream
Then please don't wake me
