As I Lie Beside You...

As I lie beside you
I look at you sleeping
The twinkling of candle’s golden light
The sound of the clock down the hall
Chimes in another hour
A melodic tone in an otherwise silent night
Your smile shows that you are in another world
What are you dreaming?
Maybe I don’t want to know
Maybe it is a memory we already shared
It may be a dream of something yet to come
I know that what ever it is
It makes you happy
Should I give you a kiss?
Awake you just to tell you of my love
No, I shall not bring you back to this world
Relive that one memory that makes you smile
Hope for the dream yet to come
I shall let you sleep
When the candle has long since died
The sun has risen and shines into your eyes
Only then will I tell you of my love
And maybe, you will tell me of your dream

A soft romantic piece, with a silent happiness for your lover while she dreams! This is a dreamy verse of poetry.

Beautiful words you write here. Very touching and romantic, however, there is no time that is a bad time to remind someone that you love them. How selfless to let your love sleep to dream only to see them happy! Wondefully tender piece. Smiles from Lolita
