As I Knelt Down To Pray

As I Knelt Down To Pray… Last night, as I knelt down to pray. I was at a loss for the words to say. So much to pray for. It was overwhelming. I thought about what life is becoming! People’s heartaches.. I’ve heard a few! What, in the world, is one going to do? I prayed for the many lost souls around. And for the joy in many that can’t be found. I prayed for many difficult situations. And for many to receive God’s gift of salvation. I asked God to cleanse me of my sins. As each day, a new journey in my life begins. I asked God to inspire me to share him with others. And not forget his command to love one another! I asked God to forgive me of wrongs I committed. And to forgive me of people that I’ve “omitted.” I asked God to bless those who’ve meant to harm me. And to help others, whether or not they love me! I asked God to help me to stay on the narrow road. And to trust him, even when I’m carrying a heavy load! I ask you now Lord Jesus, to have you way in my heart. From your spirit’s direction... May I not depart! May I keep close to me, the love that you’ve given. And be humble in knowing my sins are forgiven! May you help me to be your example that will shine. While I am still here. And still have the time! Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer to you! I am honored for the opportunity just to know you! By Jim Pemberton
