As He Was

As he kissed me,
I felt loved.
As he held me,
I felt passion.
As he wiped the tears away,
I felt comfort.
As he laughed,
I felt at ease.
Then, as he told me I was his only,
I felt pain for I knew he lied.
And yet I stayed.
As he told me he loved me,
I felt hurt for I knew another woman held his heart.
And yet I stayed.
As he laughed,
I was depressed.
As he wiped the last tear away,
It was then that I realized I had no more to cry, they all dried.
As he held me,
I felt alone, for he thought of her.
As he kissed me,
I then told him goodbye, bowed my head, and slowly walked away.

You have expressed this well. It hurts badly to love with everything you have and have it smashed by it not being returned. Great write luv ~Virginia
