As - a History

As summer changes into fall 
I thought you and I 
Would die apart like an exile 
From his country's heart 
But instead you are a Nile 
That must flood forever where I grow 
The corn for which I drew the chart 
I cannot wait for flooding seasons 
And must bare my foot 
Clean of shoes and pride and come 
To the place you exposed the root 
That kept the poison in the scum 
As time into distance spools 
It is you I love 
And miss now when school is over 
And you are not inside 
As when in silence I stay assured 
In difference you were sweeter more
