Artificial Overdose
You've spun a cotton candy dream
and melted my marshmallow heart.
The pain you caused became ice cream
a brain freeze that would not depart.
Your tears like sugar on gumdrops
and and arms like hooks on candy canes!
Your hold on me; it never stops
through artificial sweetner rains!
Words as sharp as peanut brittle
still follow each warm, chocolate kiss.
I'm stuck like taffy but feel little
while you indulge in sweet, sweet bliss!
Oh, I've become quite nausiated
and quite sugar sick!
An overdose of you belated
and an after taste that's just so...Ick!
I'm sick and dizzy on this
spinning, saccharin carousel...
I wonder if I'd really miss
the addiction that you sell?
My tears have made my eyes unglued
and I can see the sticky mess!
The honeyed web that you exude
isn't strong enough to hold I guess!
My heart of marshmallow has fled
and is replaced with sour sweet-tarts!
Your artificial spell is dead!
I've no care for rock candy hearts!
Your xylose spells can not affect
the granulated hearts you spurn!
Go find another to reject...
I'm not too sugar drunk to learn!
