arteries

I wish you weren't apart of me Traces of you flowing through my arteries Deprived of essentials like a commodity Wish you were someone who fought hard for me Take it all, at least what's left You've burnt this candle from both ends See the light through the plight

Hello Shay, Your poem title interested me evoking a raw introspection. It is filled with the struggle of grappling with parts of ourselves we wish weren't there yet that are integral to our being. Your poetic words resonate with the longing for someone who truly values and fights for us. Well-articulated internal conflict with such depth and honesty. Loved it! - Blessings, Daniel Warm regards,
