Art - Marc Zakharovich Chagall

Death of Bella

Holding each other's hands
They were flying like birds
A tiny town below was softly glowing
Under the moon, love was overflowing

Mark whispered to her gently
“I’ll certainly never leave you ”
In the room with a bouquet
Joy springs from a cheerful minuet

His head suddenly turned upside-down
Everything was torn down
The Death of Bella caused his distress
Love was expected to be endless

Indescribable sorrow to be expressed
Unimaginable sadness was addressed
But Mark turned his unbearable sadness
into valuable masterpieces

which are more precious than pearls.

This is wonderful, Felicia, about an artist AND painting that I adore! You have captured it so exquisitely, and conveyed the emotion and intent of the piece to perfection. Such incredible beauty comes from such tortured souls ... I wonder if that's the price we all pay as artists? Certainly those like Chagall, Van Gogh, on-and-on ... LOVE this! Congrats, a seven for sure, and well-deserved! :-)

Much of mine as well, Felicia ... I know that my time spent in Hell - whether by my own hand or others - was for a positive purpose, though I can't always SEE that purpose ... perhaps it is for us to reach others who are there, and show them there is a way OUT. I don't post all my dark works, as it often worries my friends, but it does more to heal than anything else, and I cherish it.
