Arrogance And Vanity

I heard a Peacock boast — aloud —
Of Feathers — finer — than the Cloud —
He preened — before the Mirror — wide —
And found — himself — Deified —

He passed the Sparrow — in the lane —
With not a nod — nor hint of pain —
Oblivion — his only peer —
Except — the Echo — in his ear —

He climbed — a Twig — of borrowed Grace —
And shook — when Wind disturbed his Place —
For Pride — is brittle — as a Star —
That dazzles — but — does not go far —

The wiser Owls — in dusky Trees —
Surveyed — his Fall — with silent ease —
And whispered — “Dust — resumes — with breeze.”

Thank you Kim, I read the master poets who are dead. After all, we write has already been said, all that we can do, is rearrange the words too hopefully create a piece that sounds little different. Right now I'm on Emily Dickinson and Charles Bukowski and the women that have abvious mental health issues and committed suicide. I am autistic Kim, I am in the spectrum of testing and communication. I didn't go past the eighth grade. Too you my best, James
