Arms Out Wide
You saw me from a distance before I even knew myself.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
You looked at me in silence, not just one more heart to melt.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
I sat there in the corner and I sang my lonely song.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
You picked up all the pieces, put them back where they belonged.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
Open hands, open arms, open smile.
Encouragement to go on that final mile.
Waiting at the finish, cheering on to victory…
Your arms stretched wide for me…
Your arms stretched wide for me.
You saw me in the shadows where I tried so hard to hide.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
With an open invitation that would never be denied.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
There was no evading, You caught me both fair and square.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
I’d look over my shoulder and, sure enough, you were there.
And you stretched your arms out wide for me.
Open hands, open arms, open smile.
Encouragement to go on that final mile.
Waiting at the finish, cheering on to victory…
Your arms stretched wide for me…
Your arms stretched wide for me.
