Are You Lonely

Are You Lonely? Are you lonely tonight? Is your heart alright? We’re in two different places, Committed to two different faces. Do your eyes bleed tears? Over many wasted years. That you can’t seem to see, A way of breaking free. Do the chains hurt the hand? Held by some other man. Other than the one that you seek, For the bind is never weak. Are the strings that hold the heart? Ripped and torn apart? Is the hope that lived within? Running very thin? Do you know I understand? For I’m the other man. Who’s trapped just like you, From the vows of “I do”. Are you lonely just like me? Lost to find the key. To unlock what could be, If there were you and me.
