Are You Fooling Yourself, Poet?

Sitting down with pen and paper in hand Let the machinery of your mind and spirit create a world in which you(and hopefully others) can exsist in peace Will you be creating great art? Storming the barricades of the past? Or are you fooling yourself, poet? Let the doubts leave you for a moment Lost in a swirl of creative energy causing A smile returns to your face Are you fooling yourself, poet? Well, just take joy in the moment As lightning jumps from your mind onto paper Let the critics say what they will A new piece of art has emerged As you contemplate the growing darkness You have struck a blow for the forces of Eternity
