Are You?

From the very day we’re born,
Each day, closer to our death,
Where our soul then lives on
And our body’s then at rest.

Each day, one day closer,
So why don’t you prepare?
Do you know where you’re going?
Do you really know or care?

I don’t have the answer,
Nor will I ever pretend,
But if fear brings preparation
Then this message I must send.

Be very afraid, yes, afraid
Of the place you might go!
Do you want the intense heat,
Or land covered with growth?

Don’t bother listening,
Most never really do.
When it’s time for departure,
Are you ready? Are you?
