Are Women Really Liberated

Really? Where? I still see them as fearful as fifty years ago. To state any concerns about especially politics, and so. Those fifty years ago when we wore little white gloves. And batted our eyelashes like turtedoves. And dared not utter a political thought.... For from my our husbands, our security was bought. We have freedom now to slaughter our unborn at clinics. We can wear pants and jeans and dress like men~ Pretending there is something chic in it? Who are we just Betsy Ross? Just to sew flags, keep our mouths shut and sit on garden moss! What woman here will openly oppose abortion? (One, me) That or you'd have to pay her much or face poetic extortion. All the lantrenes and lovely shape poems we create. Have ever, any, warned us that loss of our liberty is at stake? So, given! A strong stance might douse your popularity. And tarnish your chances forever to the owneer of a trophy be! But a country under censorship is no way to live. For our progeny's future, why the fear of a political missive? 2/24/2021 ~2~

I have seen far more anti-abortion poems here than pro-choice. I have posted my own on the topic, but mine is probably more of an argument against teaching women to read and write.

You know me, I speak it as I see it. Being true to self , goes for poetry too. I myself refuse to join the crowd to get along. Poetry is an individual ART.. Artistic expression should not be so very deeply affected by outside forces, imho. Write what heart and soul says-- not what pleases the crowd or the current politics.

Love that you stand by your principles my friend. The right to life is sacred. Personal choice can not over rule that , imho. To me , seems there is far too much censorship in modern poetry. Younger poets attempt to please by walking in lockstep. A poet should write from the heart regardless of the current fad/movement or cultural stampede going on. A fav . God bless,,

I'll tell you of a strong woman: Rebbitzin Sarah Zucker raised 13 kids in a modest home, on her husband's stipend as the head of a Kollel (advanced Rabbinical institution). His hours were 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m... She herself was the principal of a struggling day school. Her checks were no doubt often months late. All her kids are wonderful. I know 5 of them... My neighborhood is full of such women. No abortions; no revealing clothing; no b.s. Just hard-working 'Yiddishe Mommas' ~ gw

Baruch HaShem! .what a terrific story. But what's In, is the opposite.((( You are indeed blessed to be surrounded by such women. Women prefer to be like men these days.Also, the culture to not have kids.. Good luck when you grow old or ill! I am but a dinosaur in this age. But, Gerson, my friend, hear me roar! I was right in the Poem was I not....not one woman here has the guts to stand for the right to life...tragedy. Popularity trumps murder? Imagine standing in front of God, telling him" I wanted to be part of the creme of the crop at PS, I don't care about you or your commandments!" On their unicorns, hugging pagan Muses!
