April Fool's Day

April plays a nasty April Fool’s trick In sunny, unpredictable weather [but not fast enough to really stick] Several scattering snow flurries fell. Fertile, brittle ground is warming up well And blue skies are more probable than not A bluish-gray cloud inching eastward fought With slow-rising river mists laying hard Before they can come together, I thought, April entered with a sharp two-edged sword.

I think this would have been my title"April entered with a sharp two-edged sword." - enjoyed it.

Definitely. I should change it. I didn't think about that. Or, probably, I thought it too long. Thanks.

We don’t have snow flurries but today it is cold for Georgia! Still in socks and long sleeves! Soon hotlanta will arrive.

It should, by all accounts, be getting much warmer in April, but not so here today! Thanks, Kim, for the read and comment.

Look, this poem is a true work of art, covering aspects of the season, the human perspective, the resistance of winter, the almost unexpected rhymes punctuating a concise handling of language. My poetic criticism always is otimist, but in this case it yields to the evidence: Milton Hankins is one of the best among us.
