Appeared To Be
I often wonder how someone,
I never knew.
Could walk into my life,
Turn It into a zoo.
Before I met her, I was safe
And sound.
Took a dip in her pool,
Here, I drowned.
A perfect stranger that snatches
Your heart.
You don't see the danger,
Until your World falls apart.
I remember how it was before
She came.
I have No one but myself
To blame.
She knew what she was doing,
She cut me deep.
She was a skilled hunter,
My wound still seeps.
She looked me in the eye,
She threw a knife at my back.
I was not prepared,
No defense to the attack.
She is a professional,
The heart she shreds.
She left me alive,
Feeling Dead.
I will never know peace,
A rage is alive inside.
She twisted my reality when
She turned the tide.
My mind begs my heart
To be brave.
Far away from life,
So close to the grave.
My world is consumed in
The taste of defeat.
I can't even walk on my own
Two feet.
When I look back,
I can see.
She was never the woman,
She Appeared to be.
