Apology

I beg for the words you will not speak
Not "I Love You"
Empty words you can keep
For you, I do not love
For you, I just despise
You and all of your lies
You beat me down in every way
Your fists so hard and full of rage
Your words are like a rusty knife
Slicing apart whatever's left inside
This agony with you I cannot take
When I would cry
You'd say I'm weak
and belt me right across the cheek
You'd get so mad I'd dare not speak
Not so hard
Most say with ease
It's not so big
Just simply this
I'm sorry for what I did
But those words are more than you could ever give
A simple phrase is all I wanted
My life as I know it is still so haunted
