Apology

APOLOGY Sometimes things happen in our lives that cause a bitter heart; Instead of praying to the Lord, we take the vengeful start. We guard our own rights with our lives and think the other’s wrong, We brood and stew about events as the day goes lingering on. We think that others should be strong and never fail some time, And so amidst our self defense their many faults we find. The longer that we stay this way, the more we find to judge, And as the bitterness eats away, so larger grows the grudge. Yet all the while we judge their lives, we fail to realize The attitude we’re harvesting instead will ruin our lives. I want to take this time today to offer each of you My humblest apologies for what I didn’t do. I didn’t let a matter rest and let it pass away, Instead, I came in self defense, and wanting you to pay. I’m sure my wounds and bitterness did not as much to you As what it did to me that day as I sat sad and blue. So I hope now that I can learn and you will all forgive The selfish, bitter way I was and how I chose to live. I reach out to each one of you, my dear, close, Christian friends, And with forgiveness in my heart I wish to make amends. I chose this way God uses me, this talent to make rhyme To voice my sorrow for events that happened in that time. I love you all, I thank you all for all your faithful prayer And how you’ve shown through this event how much you really care.
