Apart From You

Apart from you there’s nothing,
Not a trace of ecstasy.
Apart from you pain’s hushing,
This once cheerful melody.

Apart from you there’s sorrow,
As immense as rising tides.
Apart from you the morrow,
Covers joy that shields and hides.

Apart from you there’s midnight,
Where there used to be my day.
Apart from you I’ve lost flight,
Ever since you flew away.

Apart from me you’ll move on,
Like you always used to do.
Yet, still I’ll guess why you’ve gone,
While I’m here apart from you…
