Aokigahara the Sea of Trees

Aokigahara
Japan
By JT Curtis 05/02/2015

At the foot of Mount Fuji
Lies a lush, but quiet forest
Every year an army marches
But, this army’s made of tourist
They come to see the many caves
And the trees that grow on rock
Daring not to leave the trails
Careful how and where they walk
For this forest bares a secret
Hidden by the Sea of Trees
Where no Sunlight is detected
Nor a slightest hint of breeze
Some, who come, dare to venture
Through the brush that swallows souls
Leaving life for the living
Having one eternal goal
From their life, they see no future
In their hearts they can't find hope
So they travel to this forest
Where they hang themselves by ropes
Do their spirits leave their bodies?
Do their souls roam though the woods?
If we found them, would we help them?
And release them if we could

Hello Jerry . . . That's precisely why I enjoy your poetry. You write for yourself and not really so much for the crowd. I'm the same way. All of my poetry and famous "poetry notes" are a reflection of things important to me and are really not built for the standard "poetry contests" they have in poetry soup. I write to present my message on the theme I'm covering -- and ultimately for book publication. I enjoy your poetry immensely!! Best Always, Gary

Thank you Gary---I sense it's not the kind of poems the people here appreciate, but I just recently was informed about the existents of this place, and was compelled to write about it---I find it amazing as a people, what we don't know
