Anyway

Anyway Do you see that girl over there? She's all alone in the corner of the classroom. She's sitting at her desk, in her chair. She has a book in her hands to drown out the voices of those who don't care. To them, she's a ghost. She's sitting before the crowd that hates her the most. Would you help her? Would you sit with her? Would you talk to her and make her feel better? Would you listen to her? Would you ignore and put to shame all who hurt her with their words and call her names? Would you assure her she isn't the one to blame? Would you love her anyway? She craves what it takes to be brave. She doesn't realize she already is. All these days, all these years, Fighting back the floods of tears, She strove to please the impossible and all she had to give, she gave. There's nothing else to say. Nothing else to study. She already passed that quiz. Would you help her? Would you sit with her? Would you talk to her and make her feel better? Would you listen to her? Would you ignore and put to shame all who hurt her with their words and call her names? Would you assure her she isn't the one to blame? Would you love her anyway? They didn't see her worth. Didn't see the value in her birth. They tried to take what wasn't theirs to take. They thought they won, but they made their biggest mistake. They started a war they had no reason to fight for. Would you help her? Would you sit with her? Would you talk to her and make her feel better? Would you listen to her? Would you ignore and put to shame all who hurt her with their words and call her names? Would you assure her she isn't the one to blame? Would you love her anyway? She's not in that corner anymore. She's moved on since then. She locked that closed door. She won't unlock it ever again.

Princess, this poem truly moved me. I could be the friend to help her, Yes I would do all of the above. I was very popular back in my school days. I was not a cheerleader, or role model .. I was a friend to all, no matter the gender, or their hangout theme. (meaning emo & weird, gothic stuck up, smart, nerds, the xool kids, the badasses, and so on and on) I made friends with everyone, and many of the peeps liked me. I know this girl, I went up to her, and became her friend, we smiled. PD
