Anxious Moments

anxious moments...
a silent phone
beside ticking clock

smiling face
with quick response...
a known ringtone

WAY to GO, Kash. I'm always happy to see your haiku in a winners' circle. You put a lot of effort into them and I admire that.

waiting.....and waiting....and waiting...oh,...it's ringing....(heart racing)....oh darn, it's just the door bell!! I got the waiting on a phone call thing down to a science when I used to be single....glad those days are over....and what ringtone would u be describing?....lol. Are the metaphors a bad thing in my poem or a good thing? I love the snow soooo much and couldn't think of a better way to convey the feeling...excellent notion that u brought up...expand on this 4 me... :) Gwendolen

Anaticipation...hoping...waiting...at last, the ringtone! Big smiles. Nice. (And thank you for being a community builder and for unselfishly sharing your time to read and encourage poetry on this site. My life took a swift new direction about 8 months ago, and I have not been able to reciprocate. My thanks go to every community builder who enjoys poetry and encourages other poets, like I once tried to do. I love you…all! Lovingly, Dane Ann)

Kashi, you are really great with this form of verse, I've decided I'm not and will let experts like you carry the torch. A fantastic write!

Ah, waiting for the phone to ring can create a lot of anxiety, Kash. So glad the "known ringtone" came to brighten the day. Very nice set of haiku, my friend. And thanks for telling me about the eight-syllable count on the quatern. I removed my entry and will rework it. I think you have another winner for Charles' latest contest! Love, Carolyn

Thanks for catching my error. I fixed it to the way it was meant. My eyes must have been "worn out" on the caboose
