Anther Story

Wipe away your tears,
time to fight monster with monster
and chase away all of your fears
with metal smooth and cool;
douse the burn of pain.
A simple flick of the wrist
turn on up, reveal a vein
to drown sorrow in familiar
red haze. Roll up the sleeve
where hidden underneath
your life’s history you cleave,
what’s writing another story?
The veins watch from beneath
so play god, make judgment,
release the monster. Fang and teeth,
slide metal in below skin,
adipose tissue, bite through
muscle as you search for a vein
and feel your life run away with you.
