Another Love Poem
I love the way the sun breaks through
The misty morning trees
I love the sound of buzzing
From a swarm of honey bees
I love the sound of crickets
As they serenade the moon
I love to sit by evening lake
And listen to the loon
I love it when I hit the gas
In my old, cranky car
And it responds by going fast
And taking me afar
I love to lie in bed awake
As thunder storms roll through
I love to hear the rumbling
And to see the lightning too
I love the taste of rum and coke
Awash upon my tongue
As I reflect back to the days
When I was strong and young
I love to recollect the past
It's fodder for my thoughts
Lovers names and party games
And things that I forgot
I love the feel of tender skin
Beneath my calloused hand
I love to hear the moan of joy
That such a touch demands
I love the feeling that I get
When I say, "I love you"
I also love the feeling
When I hear her say it too
I love my home
I love my wife
I love my dogs
I love my life
I love my country
Shore to shore
I love my freedom
More and more
Oh! And I love to write.
Thanks for reading. :-)
