Another Gift
ANOTHER GIFT
Another gift was by the tree,
And strange it seemed that gift to see.
‘Twas wrapped in swaddling clothes and rest
Next to a mother’s loving breast.
It seemed so tiny and so small;
‘Twas hardly much a gift at all,
Yet when I knew there on that night
That this gift was God’s own gift of light,
I took it and I held it there
As I accepted Him in prayer.
It was my greatest gift of all
As I received it when I called,
For it gave me a brand new life
When I accepted Jesus Christ,
This gift of God to men in sin
To fill my life and live within.
I know now that by His great grace
Some day I’ll see Him face to face.
