Another Day

Coffee and Kotb in the morning
Another mundane Monday kind of afternoon
I come home with the thoughts and I get caught up
Thinkin’ bout how tonight I could be loving you

It’s another day away from our feelings
Passion put on pause and memories left unmade
We go on through the motions while living with devotion
That lies in someone else’s arms
For at least another day

Ever wonder what it would be like
To finally live the truth that’s heavy on our minds
When the time is right I hope we might realize the sacrifice
Was only there to show us that what we have’s been worth the wait

Another day away from our feelings
Passion put on pause and memories left unmade
We go on through the motions while living with devotion
That lies in someone else’s arms
For at least another day

Someday there’ll be no more tomorrows
And if we find ourselves still lying in those arms
At least please know no other soul, could take me where you made me go
And I’ll leave this world with a smile
Wishing for another day

Another day to say how much I loved you
Another day to tell you in another song
Don’t get me wrong, it’s been too long, but our bond has grown twice as strong
It’s like our souls were made to be kept at bay
At least another day

You can’t say the words I wanna hear
I can’t whisper in your ear
I guess that we’ll have to wait
At least another day

We can see our fate but we’ll have to wait
At least another day
