Another Combat Fatality
Another Combat Fatality
I just had enlisted in the Army one day.
Oath of allegiance to country did say.
For four years would be in the infantry
And combat duty would eventually see.
Over hill and dale went to basic training.
Out of me all of my energy was draining.
Had pushed myself as far as I could go.
Was always in middle not fast or slow.
But regardless I finally finished at last
And all of my tests successfully passed.
At some questions, I did have to guess
And in end had been awarded an MOS.
I proudly would wear an Army uniform
And our unit ended up in Desert Storm
While fighting there in a combat unit.
We were all brave and had true grit.
While on duty drove by a desert palm;
Nearby was buried a roadside bomb
Which did kill both my buddy and me;
We had become a Combat Fatality.
