Annoying Old Age
Getting old is annoying.
My bones begin to creak.
Especially in the mornings.
Trying to get out of my seat.
My 20/20 left me
A long time ago.
My hearing is fine.
If you talk slow.
No matter how I diet
It makes no odds at all.
My waistline is spreading.
My mirror is appalled.
I walk into a room.
Then wonder why I'm there.
I daren't reach above the cupboard.
In case I fall down from that chair.
I'm sitting in a cool breeze
When I feel the heat rise.
I am like an oven.
Regardless of the weather outside.
Getting old is awful.
Now I cannot get the guy.
I must just take my knitting out.
Sit in my rocking chair and sigh.
