Angst

Life has cruelty in it I find
it’s so uncaring, so cold
and so very unkind.

Life and it's despair
Nothing is certain, nothing is just
Is there no one in this world
Whom we can trust?

Life and its emptiness
We are so unaware
Of the sadness
Hatred
And loneliness
That awaits us out there

Life and it’s turmoil
Where does it lead?
It leads to nowhere
Life's warning I heed.

It's too late now
We must go on
Nothing is lost
Nothing is won

I'll try to live my life
The best that I can
Although I do not always understand
Why people's hearts grow cold
Why they wither and die
Then I look at this thing
Called life
And now I know why

My advice would be to find what makes you happiest and then surround yourself with it. In my particular case it is my grandchildren that bring me joy. Look for one good thing every day and give back two. Congratulations on having your wonderful poem featured Jennifer. I love that name. I named my daughter Jennifer. Blessings, Connie

Life can sometimes feel this way, In fact all the time but we all just need to delight in love for the very essence of it. Nice write up! Filled with emotions

Poet paints a sad picture of life. She's disgustedas its empty, cruel n full of strife. In the end she says she will try to live her best.Shes pained by death in it. Its a touchy piece good at the same time. Kindly review my work also as I'm relatively new .

Hi Jennifer, I've grown to know through my experience that life is never going to be what we want it to be...Just roll with the punches; pray for a brighter day, and God will do the rest. Much love and many blessings to you. Ken
