Anger

I'd sing you a lullaby,
but you couldn't hear it,
I'd throw you a kiss,
but you couldn't bear it.
It's not with the past
that one withers away,
it's caused by deceit,
an inability to say
that I love you more
than anyone on earth,
what I wouldn't give
to love as you're worth,
You hurt two young boys,
my heart and my soul
away with fidelity
my trust that you stole
that anger and pain
that comes from within
is nothing compared
to your ultimate sin.

Written not long after a life-altering event, fueled by some raw emotion.
