Angels and Peace

Mashed biscuits, broken nuts on plates
potato chip pieces, embedded in cake
Cola stained coasters, ready for the bin
Crumpled napkins, kids banging on tins
Laughing and crying, all in one breath
Lil spoiled brats, we hug them to death

High on sugar, they run in circles around
Chocolate fudge, stamped on the ground
Balloons popping, some launch into space
Dog licking jam, from the children’s face
Oh yes what a mess, we do it every year
Take them home, I’d murder a cold beer

Ah yes indeed Jo, the majesty and the madness, but after 3 hours, I needed a little timeout, cheers David
